Oh lord what a couple of weeks.

As everyone knows, summer brings slacking. Summer also brings our students to the end of their exams and a lot of partying, so for the last couple of weeks we’ve pretty much forgone progression in the name of farming for our newer 80s. Everyone is pretty good now so this week we went back to progression…..and how.

With a slightly modified raid team - including a Paladin healer who’d never seen Sindragosa 10 hard before, and a new Paladin tank (not that much changes for tanks…does it ever?) - we managed to down Sindragosa in 6 or 7 attempts. This is something that most people put down to Hellscream’s Warsong being so high now, and although it is kind of crazy, in all honesty this isn’t a fight that changes a whole lot. The raid healing is easier no doubt, but it still takes skill and co-ordination to pull this off, and again our somewhat lesser-geared (compared to most guilds) and much newer guild proves that we’re at least as good as (and most likely better than) the Eonar raiders that have been trying this content since day 1.

Naturally, not satisfied with overcoming Sindragosa, we took a walk to plague wing to try Putricide. We had to have a quick wipe up due to some bad unbound plague positioning on try 1, but on our second attempt (we do so enjoy killing new bosses in stupidly small numbers of attempts…) this was the result:

a dead Professor Putricide and a nice Facelifter for our new Paladin tank, Allerian.

Full steam ahead….ICC 10 HC Lich King server first kill shall be ours!

I say this in capitals, because we really do want YOU, if you’re a skilled player that is reading this newspost and thinking “gee, if only I was in a guild like this Bad Karma, maybe I’d be killing top end mobs in style too…”. Or more likely, “fuck me these guys are good. I want in”. So head on over to our recruitment forum and drop in an application. The ownage continues.

Unfortunately we had a few people with stuff to do tonight so we didn’t get to go much further. We spent a little time on Putricide after clearing his trash again; I’m gonna go out on a limb and say he’s the hardest mob in the zone pre-Lich King. The sheer amount of positionals needed, the ridiculous DPS needed on ooze spawns, and the normal damage needed on Putricide himself mean this is going to be a lot of fun!

Marrowgar (2 shot, we underestimated his damage a bit…still easy though)
Deathwhisper (4 shot whilst we worked out the mechanics, and when we stopped mindcontrolled mages with Arcane Blast stacks oneshotting our raid members…)
Gunship (oneshot, obviously…)
Saurfang (like….10 shot, but most of them were resets not wipes, one of them due to my chicken combo turning up just as we engaged )
Festergut (oneshot, hilarious kill)
Rotface (twoshot, we assumed the Vile Gas we’d heard about was the same as Festergut, turns out it was a lot easier)
Valithria (two or three shot whilst we worked out the portal mechanics)

So overall, can’t say fairer than that really. Not many guilds make 7/12 in one night, a lot don’t make it at all, and people certainly don’t make it in 6 weeks from the formation of their guild from newly level 80s. Tonight’s raid members were:

I won’t write anymore about the raid. We’re fucking good. That’s that. We’re recruiting, so you should probably join us if you want to see how pros steamroll content.

I’ll finish off with the tale of Festergut; we went into this fight knowing that it was basically Festergut normal with some extra DPS and Putricide throwing Malleable goos. What we didn’t quite take into account was just how hard a time the healers at Festergut would have of seeing incoming goos, so we lost our Druid and I called for everyone to wipe it up. After 10 seconds of 3 of the DPS standing at the door, Rickdick calls “why did we stop? We can still kill him”, so we go back to killing him with the raid in disarray. Obviously this didn’t make it easy, but thanks to pro DPS we wiped down to Kane (Shadowpriest) and Nazdreg (Prot Warrior) with Festergut at 150k hp. Naz blew all of his cooldowns, equipped 14 extra shields, and shield bashed Festergut over and over in the balls; Kane cast a Mind Flay. Naz continued to swing his sword mightily, dealing incredibly mortal blows to Festergut; Kane cast a Mind Blast. Nazdreg died with Festergut on 10k hp, Kane a second later out of fright, but the dots ticked one final time and Festergut died. It was pretty hilarious.

Edit: I just realised that I raided with my quest tracker on all night. Haha. I’m awesome.

Bad Karma were formed 5 weeks ago, so this was our 5th week in ICC. Many of the guild had only recently picked up WoW so we also had to gear people in this time, which included running ICC 10 for 251s. It’s a testament to our organisation and our experience with gaming just how quickly we have progressed from noob 80s to Lich King killers.

Its been incredibly frustrating for us though; including tonight we have had 3 nights on Lich King total, and the progression on the encounter was fantastic; but we’ve been plagued with client crashes, server lag, disconnects, and a whole host of issues. So when we hit up ICC 10 tonight to kill him, it was no surprise that he went down in two attempts once we had none of these issues.

For loot (which I still think is kinda crappy, he should be dropping 264s tbh) he dropped 2x Warmace of Menethil. Congrats Nazdreg on being the coolest Fury warrior on the block and dual-wielding LK weapons

So with this done, its on to hard mode 10 man. We fully expect to be back with Mr L. King in 2-3 weeks after we clear ICC 10 on heroic.

It’s been a long time without any updates here, since we quit Warhammer and the MMO industry has been kind of dead. We played some Aion, which sucked. We were at a loss. And then we found:

World of Warcraft!

I’m serious. The one game we all thought we’d never play again, is now being played.

So with typical Bad Karma attitude, we got in to the game, levelled characters, and are now 5 weeks in to Bad Karma as a World of Warcraft guild on the Eonar server. Although we started playing very late in the game to compete for any firsts, we have levelled people, geared them, and been raiding at a high level in the time it takes most people to work out how to turn their camera. We were among the top 10 guilds on the server to kill the 11th boss in Icecrown Citadel and are now working on killing the Lich King. Unfortunately, only being a few weeks in to raiding and with the additional problems of server lag, exam time, and members’ wives having babies, we lost a little bit of steam but we’re confident that he’ll be dead very soon.

The site is going to have an overhaul soon to get rid of its Warthammer feel and change to a more appropriate feel, so stay tuned. Come Cataclysm, maybe even the release of Ruby Sanctum, we’re intending to be showing off some of those ‘first’ achievements that all the real WoWfags have.

Its totally going to break the page formatting, but I think you’ll agree that the advanced tactics contained within are totally worth it.

Our latest visit to the Inevitable City turned out to be interesting and loads more fun than previous times.

Boss, Nagarythe Corps and Ard az Nailz kept fighting us the whole evening. Both sides had their victories and defeats, but in general we had an awesome assault.

The resulting Invader treasure feels truely deserved and is appreciated.

This time, the fortresses were dealt with swiftly.
However, inside Inevitable City more opposition and some intense fights were to be found.

We rolled our way through Empire and Elfland and took two fortresses in a decent amount of time.

Unfortunately Inevitable City itself was pretty fucking lackluster and a bit of a waste for endgame content; the PQ was an avoid farmfest, the scenario was too big and allowed too many people (thus increasing the ratio of random noobs to decent players) to be good.

Basically, stage 1 of the takeover of the zone is multiple instances of a single, large public quest, involving killing low 30s NPCs, picking up items, and holding two objectives. The idea is that both sides have the same thing to do, and 48 players of each side PvP whilst trying to do this. Unfortunately, since you can switch instances, it is easy to avoid the enemy altogether and farm the PQ for Invader loot. And so, as with the rest of this game, that’s what most people did; avoided the PvP and farmed gear. Here’s hoping that Mythic get round to making this endgame experience a lot more PvP focused and a lot more interesting. It’s a bad idea poorly implemented, but we’ve stuck with this game through class imbalance, unlockable zones, and much more, so we’ll stick with it now and see how it goes - in the meantime, we’ll just keep on doing what we do best and raping people in PvP
